Story

Love comes in all shapes and sizes and no couple proves it more than BBW (Big, Beautiful Woman) ANNA LOMBARDO and FA (Fat Admirer) TONY MARTIN. The couple tells their story in the British TV documentary "Chubby Chasers." "When he came over from England for the New Years Eve event I was probably pushing 560 to 570 pounds," Bostonian Anna says of the night she met Tony. The couple met through HEATHER BOYLE, a woman who organizes parties in Boston for big women and the men who love them. "When Tony and I first got together I think it was first and foremost my size that attracted him," Anna says. "Size is always a big thing with FAs. One of the quotes is 'the bigger the better.' But as we started getting to know each other he liked me for more than just my size." "After we first met, we started talking on the phone and then I started going out there a bit more," Tony says of their cross-Atlantic relationship. "And in June of last year we became engaged. I bought the ring over here and took it over there and surprised her with it. She was over the moon about it." "He actually got down on one knee and asked me to marry him," she says. During their engagement and while still living thousands of miles apart, Anna decided to undergo gastric bypass surgery, which she feared would put a bump in her road to happiness with Tony. "Tony likes big, fat girls," their mutual friend Heather says. "He doesn't just like chubby girls. If you found him a 300-pound girl and a 600 pound girl, he'd make a bee line for the 600-pound girl." But Anna says she did it strictly for her own well-being. "My reason for having gastric bypass was for my health issues," she reveals. "It wasn't to be a size 10 or to be thin like everyone else. I wanted to get my health back." And Tony says he knows he will always love the way she looks. "She's never going to be skinny skinny," he says. "She might lose half her weight but she'll be by no means small. And I love her for who she is anyway. I'm very happy with her."
